Time To Run Compression Shirt

Compression clothing is one of the hot topics among runners these days, whether the discussion centres around compression shorts – and whether to wear other shorts over the top of them – or the pros and cons of compression socks. The latter are supposed to be great for supporting leg muscles during long runs, but I have a running friend for whom they caused all sorts of problems. And then there are compression tops. I opted for a lesser known brand, the long sleeved Time To Run compression shirt. These are widely available in the UK, including Amazon, and there are several reasons for wearing one, ranging from increasing your performance, to just pure comfort.

One of the things which many of us do before exercise is go through our warm-up routines. This might involve a some walking, a few miles on the bike, or a slow-paced jog, to get the muscles warm and quicken the pulse, so your body is ready for action. A few stretches and you’re ready to run. But what about after your training session? Instead of chatting with friends think about your post-race routine. Doing a cool down and some deep stretches can help your muscles flush away lactate and remain flexible; but nutrition is also important. I drink ‘For Goodness Shakes’ recovery drinks as soon as I can after a hard session to help with hydration, and replenish muscle glycogen stores.
2XU Compression Calf Guards

Most people will have heard of compression socks or compression stockings, whether they are exercise buffs or not, because these products have been shown to help patients at risk from deep vein thrombosis (DVT). In fact, many people insist on wearing them if they travel a lot by plane. However, there are significant advantages to athletes in wearing calf compression sleeves, both during training, and for recovery afterwards. And although they can look a little dorky to some people, sports compression socks are beginning to make the move from pro athletes and cycling teams, and into the mainstream. The ones I recently bought are the 2XU compression calf guards.

If you are seriously into running, it can be hard to put in all the road hours you want to, because running can be tough on the body. Even with the best cushioned shoes you can buy, sometimes it just makes more sense to get on your bike or make your way down to the local sports center to use the swimming pool. And it’s a great relief to switch to a little cross-training which is low-impact, to give your joints a rest. One good way to ease yourself into cross-training is to buy an exercise bike. I bought the Reebok iBike 2.1, and this article is my review, but also aims to give a glimmer of hope to those owners who are at their wit’s end trying to decipher the assembly instructions!

Whichever distance of triathlon you compete in, eventually your training and nutrition will get you up to a standard, and then you’ll hit the dreaded plateau, and be left wondering what you can do to get those race times down even further. Once you have found a way to fly through the transitions without fuss, and if you have a great tri bike which is light as a feather and so aerodynamic it is practically invisible from the front, maybe it’s time to look at yourself and your own aerodynamics. This can mean playing around with your ‘shape’ in the saddle to minimize wind-resistance, or it might mean switching from a standard cycling helmet to a more aerodynamic aero helmet.
Which Are The Best Road Bike Brands For Fun And Competition?

With so many to choose from, it can be difficult to determine the best road bike brands to fit your individual needs. Many of the most popular brands are only available at specialty bike shops or through independent dealers rather than through chain outlets, so you have to shop around in order to find the right model for you. In some cases, you cannot even buy via the internet because brands, such as Specialized for example, prefer to sell through authorized sellers. This is a kind of quality control which means you have to go and get measured up for your bike, making it perfect for you, and also provides extra safety, as you know the bike has been built and tested by professionals!

When you first get involved in multisports such as triathlon and duathlon, there is a daunting amount of kit to spend your hard-earned cash on. If your swim is going to be warm enough, then you will not need a high quality wet suit – often you will not be allowed to wear one under the race rules. Your other gear will probably cost a few hundreds of dollars, but then there is the not so cheap matter of getting a decent bike. This is where the costs can mount up massively, and the money you wish to spend will depend on how serious you think you are going to be.
Saucony ProGrid Phoenix 4 Running Shoes

Saucony ProGrid Phoenix 4 running shoes are designed to provide an element of stability to runners who mildly overpronate. My usual preference for road running used to be Saucony Ride, which are neutral and pared down for biomechanically efficient runners. However, this year, they didn’t serve me too well and after suffering with right hip pain after training, I investigated the possible causes. It turned out my right foot collapses – overpronates – during the stride cycle, and so I opted for Saucony Phoenix 4. The result? No more hip pain.

Whether you are competing in triathlons or just prefer the running – for fun or for other sports activities – your most important piece of kit is your running shoes. It is imperative that you know which shoes to buy, because wearing the wrong type can be a contributing factor if you are continually getting injured, or have unexplained pains. These pains can appear in your leg joints, particularly the knees but also the ankles, and badly chosen running shoes can even wreak havoc with your lower back, not to mention the fairly obvious foot pain you might experience.
